Can you trust digital camera reviews

When looking for a digital camera you would not just go into a mall and buy the first one you see in a shop window. You need to know what it is you want and what price range to look at. A great way to get the kind of advice you want is with a digital camera review whether it is from a magazine or you have found one online.

There are many different digital camera reviews online as well as in newspapers as well as magazines. You may even see one on TV as there are plenty of selling channels available as well as adverts.

What you learn from digital camera reviews will help you select a camera that will match your requirements. But we do not want to be too gullible and should wonder why most digital camera reviews praise the entire digital camera range out there. Some of these revues may not be correct or genuine and can lead to confusion on which is the best product to fit your needs. The reviews will more than likely come from people who have used the camera and then share their experiences but some may be trying to entice you to buy from them.

Digital camera manufacturers put out there own press releases about there latest camera models but they will obviously be bios so press releases or reviews that are directly from the manufacturer or advertising office that is directly connected with producer of the digital camera should be taken with a pinch of salt. They may be only telling you about the good points of there latest camera model and not what you might here from someone who has used and reviewed the digital camera.

What would you expect, supposing you own your own line of digital cameras, press releases are done to boost your sales, you release digital camera reviews about your products. Would you point out the bad things or the glitches in your product in your digital camera reviews, of course not because that way you will never produce good sales? Press releases or digital camera reviews from manufacturer are always half-truths.

Another one that may paint a rosy picture are home shopping networks and advertisements. As much as press releases, they pretty much pose the same claims about their products. But hey, don’t trust me, you can always get them and return them after proving to yourself that it doesn’t work. Never mind the time and effort that you’ve wasted, you chose to listen to a half-truth digital camera review, that’s what you get for that.

The best and most unbiased digital camera reviews available are those found in review magazines (computer based and technical magazines), special websites catering to techie stuff and forums on digital cameras.

These type reviews are always truthful. These reviewers will list down the good as much as the bad points of digital cameras and on some forums they will give it a good blasting if it does not come up to scratch. These digital camera reviews usually points out good and bad points of the product and if it is bad they will say so. They will also review what is better or worse than the last release of the product. These reviewers and critics are knowledgeable and usually experts in their craft, so it’s safe to say that they know what they are talking about. Most of the time, these digital camera reviewers have actual first hand experience with the product itself rather than an advertising agent asked to come up with flowery words to capture you and your wallet.

Of course the best review of all would come from yourself. So if you can test drive the digital camera you want it is a much better endorsement than someone else’s word. If you cannot test drive or borrow friends then the only alternative is to take a chance on the reviews you have read and buy your digital camera.

Once you have bought it you can then try it out and compare all the features and the things it claims to do. (Be careful to read the specs, options and features that you need to try out, be on the lookout for words such as weatherproof, meaning that they are splash resistant as opposed to waterproof that is water resistant. The last thing you want to do is soak your camera in water only to find out that it is good for stopping a few splashes rather than being completely waterproofed. After doing so, then you can be the expert and write your own digital camera review as an expert. Be sure to indicate that your review is a hands on experience with the product and not just some wild guess.

Don't take another digital picture until you read this book! Someone has finally gotten into the "secret files" of top photographers and is sharing the information for the first time ever!
